Mr. Hammersley is a partner in the firm’s trial practice and dispute resolution group, and is also a Florida Supreme Court certified mediator. Mr. Hammersley’s practice focuses primarily on construction and complex litigation. Mr. Hammersley is devoted to the Sarasota community and sits on the Board of Directors for the Sarasota County Education Foundation and the YMCA Children and Youth Services Board.

J. Derrick Maginness is a partner in the firm’s trial practice and dispute-resolution group. Mr. Maginness handles complex commercial litigation matters in all Florida state and federal courts. Mr. Maginness has represented individuals and businesses in a broad spectrum of legal matters. His areas of practice include corporate and business law, employment law, banking law, real estate transactions and litigation, association law, creditor’s rights in bankruptcy, landlord-tenant law, commercial litigation, mediation and other general litigation matters.
SAM D. NORTON
Mr. Norton is a founding shareholder of Norton Hammersley, and his practices focuses primarily on real estate, banking, corporate and business transactions. Mr. Norton is an experienced real-estate attorney in the acquisition, development, and sale of both large commercial projects as well residential transactions. In addition to his practice, Mr. Norton is member of the Board of Directors for Insignia Bank and the Argus Foundation and serves on the Executive Committee for the University of Florida Bergstrom Center for Real Estate Studies.
PETER Z. SKOKOS
Mr. Skokos is a shareholder in the firm’s real-estate practice, and assists clients in real-estate transactions, banking matters, and corporate and business transactions. Mr. Skokos represents numerous lenders in preparing loan documentation and closing commercial and residential loan transactions. Mr. Skokos is a member of the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance and is on the Board of Directors for the Gulf Coast CEO Forum, Manatee-Sarasota Building Industry Association and Bradenton Area Economic Development Corporation.

Prior to retirement Mr. Lopez was a Shareholder in the firm’s business and tax law practice, as well as the firm’s estate planning, estate administration, and asset preservation group. Mr. Lopez is Board Certified in wills, trusts and estates law, as well as in tax law, by the Florida Bar, and is a member of the Southwest Florida Estate Planning Council, the Tax Section and the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar. He has served on numerous non-profit boards and is the former President of the Board of Directors of the Pines of Sarasota Foundation, Inc.
